My Journey

I've been exploring and working with CAD since before the Y2K era. That's where my journey began with Adobe Photoshop and the broader Adobe ecosystem, along with Autodesk 3D Studio Max, Maya, and AutoCAD. What started as curiosity about how digital worlds were created evolved into a decades-long passion for visual storytelling through technology.

The late 90s and early 2000s were an exciting time to discover 3D graphics. Hardware was finally catching up to our imaginations, and every new software release unlocked possibilities that seemed like science fiction just years before. I spent countless hours learning the craft, pushing the limits of what consumer-grade systems could render, and developing an eye for the details that make digital imagery feel real.

The Evolution

Over the years, I've witnessed and adapted to the incredible evolution of digital creative tools. What once required massive render farms and specialized workstations now runs on devices we carry in our pockets. This democratization of technology hasn't made the work easier—it's expanded the possibilities and raised the bar for what's considered exceptional.

Today, my toolkit reflects this evolution: Maxon Cinema 4D for motion graphics and visualization, Blender for its incredible versatility and open-source community, Fusion 360 for precision engineering and product design, Adobe Creative Suite for post-production and compositing, and Houdini for those projects that demand procedural wizardry. I've also embraced the web as a creative medium, working with CSS and SVG to bring interactive experiences to life.

Beyond the screen, I've developed expertise in CAM software and G-code, bridging the digital and physical worlds through CNC machining and 3D printing. There's something deeply satisfying about seeing a digital creation materialize in the real world, whether it's a machined part that fits perfectly or a printed prototype that validates weeks of design work.

The Craft

What drives my work is the intersection of technical precision and creative expression. Every project is a puzzle that requires both analytical problem-solving and artistic vision. How do you communicate complex ideas visually? How do you balance aesthetic beauty with functional requirements? How do you create something that not only looks impressive but serves its intended purpose?

I approach each project with a focus on understanding the core challenge. Whether it's visualizing a product that doesn't exist yet, creating motion graphics that explain a complex concept, or designing functional parts for manufacturing, the goal is always the same: clear, compelling visual communication that exceeds expectations.

My process combines technical expertise with creative exploration. I believe the best solutions emerge when you deeply understand both the tools at your disposal and the problem you're solving. This means staying current with emerging technologies while maintaining a foundation in time-tested principles of design, composition, and storytelling.

Beyond the Digital

Recently, I've rediscovered the joy of traditional art through pencil and charcoal drawing. After years of working exclusively in digital mediums, there's something grounding about the directness of graphite on paper—no undo button, no layers, just mark-making and observation. This return to fundamentals has enriched my digital work, reminding me that core artistic principles transcend the tools we use.

I've also embraced digital drawing on iPad with Procreate and Fresco, which beautifully bridges traditional and digital workflows. The immediacy and tactile feedback of drawing directly on a screen, combined with the flexibility of digital tools, offers a creative experience that feels both familiar and revolutionary.

This dual practice—traditional and digital—has deepened my appreciation for what each medium offers. Traditional work teaches patience, commitment, and the beauty of imperfection. Digital work offers experimentation, iteration, and the ability to explore ideas rapidly. Together, they create a richer creative practice than either could alone.

Looking Forward

The field of computer graphics continues to evolve at a breathtaking pace. Real-time rendering, AI-assisted workflows, virtual production, and the convergence of physical and digital fabrication are opening new frontiers for creative work. I'm excited to explore these emerging technologies while staying grounded in the fundamental skills that make great visual work timeless.

I created this site to showcase work across these various mediums and approaches. Each piece represents a specific challenge solved, a technique mastered, or an idea explored. Whether you're here as a potential collaborator, a fellow creative, or simply curious about what's possible when art meets technology, I hope you find something that resonates.

The journey from those early days experimenting with 3D Studio Max to today's sophisticated workflows has been one of continuous learning and adaptation. The tools change, the techniques evolve, but the core mission remains: creating compelling visual work that communicates ideas, solves problems, and occasionally surprises both creator and viewer with what's possible.
